Taste Explosion

“Taste Explosion” existed in its first incarnation, as an improvisatory psychedelic funk band with Jesse Andrews, Brett Rautenberg, Eric Rosenbaum, and myself, from approximately 2003-2003. It was the first, and only, band, in which I performed extensively on casio sk-1. It is an especially fond memory!

Jesse Andrews, who has gone on to greater things (like publishing this young adult novel) came up with the name. And he has given me the go-ahead to re-assign it to a very fine organ trio, featuring Eric Lane (Full Tang), and Mike Calabrese (Lake Street Dive).

“Taste Explosion”, in its second incarnation, will play fun songs that you will recognize, with some of the spirit, but not quite as much of the method, of its noble forbear.

And we will do it all live, 9pm this Thursday, at Atwoods Tavern, 877 Cambridge St., Cambridge, MA.

Check out some Beatles by way of Joe Cocker by way of Taste Explosion!
